Cobblestone

  • The cobblestones of Paris have a hard time staying put.

In March 2019 in Paris, ‘The protests began over fuel tax rises but have since developed into a broader revolt against perceived elitism.’ reported the BBC. Men and women clad in yellow safety vests congregated on the streets of Paris to protest. Protesters vandalised and

torched luxury shops and a high end restaurant. Riot police responded.

In a good old Parisian fashion, iron railings were dug up alongside the cobblestones. Riot police had shields and tear gas. Protestors had the railings and cobblestones.

In the picture two young men are both wearing black clothes from head to toe. You can only see the face of the front figure who has just released the cobblestone from his hand. He is wearing a mask and goggles. The slim figure behind him has his hand stretched all the way back and is holding a cobblestone in it. He is ready to launch it towards the right side of the image. In the background, people wearing yellow vests are moving about. Smoke wraps around them.
